ABOUT ME

The story behind Permanent Break

My name is Philippe, and I took a permanent break. Literally — the kind where an employee goes on break and does not come back. Best decision I ever made.
Permanent Break is what came out of that. A curation of clothing built around a nonconformist approach to life, inspired by the joy of living in the moment, travelling well, dressing intentionally, and surrounding yourself with good people. I grew up in Germany, with a Polish mother and a Lebanese father — cultures, languages, and ways of looking at the world were always part of the conversation. That curiosity never left. I travel to discover, to understand, and to connect, and the clothes are designed to come along for all of it. My friends are in these photos. My life is in this brand. Be kind, build community, and wear something good while you are at it.

The clothing is personal because I designed all of it for myself — filling gaps in my own wardrobe with pieces I actually wanted to wear. Fabrics sourced from Italy, deadstock where possible, made in Portugal. Not to tick boxes, but because this planet deserves a little help and quality starts at the source. Fit and quality are non-negotiable for me, but everything needs to feel relaxed — in how it wears and in how it is made. I hope you will be part of it.
